I'm really excited about the future of BCBC. Thank you, Lord, for providing, sustaining, and growing us to this point, today!
This morning the church was ALIVE with activity - kids everywhere! Vacation Bible School is off to a colorful, cheerful, energetic start today - and they'll be four more days of the same, Lord-willing. Thanks to all who are helping make it happen!
Our 2021 Goal for our GROWTH FUND (which includes all our local ministry, operating costs, and global mission support) is $595,000.
As of mid-year, we saw income of $285k, and had spent $281k. Essentially, we were 48% of our goal on June 30. That's terrific news. Thank you so much for your ongoing generosity as a church family - together, we are making a difference in many, many lives - here in Berrien County, and around the world!
(These numbers don't include "designated" giving - like mission trips and building improvement funds. And, when we start raising money for the children's area renovations, those will be separate/additional to our normal budget.)
If you'd like to be a part of reaching our $595k Growth Fund goal for the year, we'd love to add you to the team. You can drop a gift in an offering box on Sunday morning, or sign up for online giving at our website. Any funds not designated specifically get added to the Growth Fund.
CONSTRUCTION / NEW BUILDING UPDATE
At our annual meeting in February, we walked through three exciting possibilities for investment and growth.
1. Our children's ministry area is under construction - and we're currently finalizing building plans so that we can present costs, giving opportunities, and next steps. In the meantime, we've seen some progress on clearing out the old - to make ready for the new.
2. The new building (the old building?) we acquired as a place for extending the reach of our ministry is being renovated and readied for use. Updates and upgrades are occurring at a fast clip - making spaces ready for various ministry (like smaller group meetings, counseling, coaching, mentoring, etc.) It's not done yet - but well on the way. If you're interested in utilizing the new place, let Pastor Bill know. We're still working on what to call this extension building (it's walking distance from our main building Berrien Center) - which is why the sign over there is still empty :-)
3. In South Asia, we're helping support a project that will enable church planting pastors to be trained in trade/practical skills, so they can initiate work into persecuted areas, where "support" might not be possible. Our church is helping fund the development of this training program, and the facilities needed to make it happen. Our first gift of $10,000 is already on the way, and we'll be able to send more in conjunction with our yet-to-be-announced funding campaign to pay for the new children's ministry area (expect to hear more about that in October).

As always, it's a joy to work with you all for the kingdom of Jesus, and for the good of people everywhere.
